The Prospect South to Macarthur (ProMac) Water Treatment Plant project, was contracted by Service Stream and focuses on the water supply for South West Sydney.
As part of this project, the main product supplied was the S756 DN1200 Double-flanged Butterfly Valve with torque limiters.
The situation arose when the existing Butterfly Valves were found to be non-compliant, necessitating their replacement.
The solution involved the supply and installation of S756 DN1200 Double Flanged PN16 Butterfly Valves, which incorporated a double eccentric design and a seal on the disc. These valves underwent thorough and rigorous testing to ensure compliance with AS4795.2 production and material standards.
To ensure reliable operation the valves were equipped with a Rotork IW76R-B1 gearbox (IP68), complete with a locking device and Sambo torque limiter an to accommodate the underground installation requirements, a 3.36-meter extension with MLK was supplied.
After several months of technical discussions and coordination with Viadux, Service Stream and Sydney Water, the S756 valves were ultimately approved. This resulted in the successful installation and commissioning of the valves, which are now actively servicing the water supply needs of the Southwestern Sydney region.
